The Digital Humanities Project on Bibliography of Modern Korean Periodicals (BMKP; www.projectbmkp.org) has now been published.
This initiative builds upon the Bibliography of East Asian Periodicals (Colonial Korea 1900–1945), completed in 2022, with the goal of creating a more integrated and dynamic bibliographic resource using digital visualization tools.
A team of three Korean Studies Librarians: Jude Yang (PI, Yale), Hyoungbae Lee (Princeton), and Jee-Young Park (Stanford) have released the online Bibliography of Modern Korean Periodicals.
About the BMKP Project
The BMKP database compiles a comprehensive bibliography of over 900 periodical titles published in Korea between 1900 and 1948. Through dynamic visualizations, the platform explores intricate connections and reveals patterns that illuminate the historical, cultural, and social fabric of modern Korea.
